Wish I could have been at the Highlander, but I think just finishing something shorter was a victory. 2 loops with map exchange, figured I'd do the first loop and see about the second, and fortunately felt well enough to do both, tho certainly not at A speed.

Was technically clean, except for #4, which was mishung. Was a bit disappointed that the course setter forced us to cross that swampy, bramble-filled area under the powerline four times. Was certainly not a very interesting area technically, and was downright miserable physically. It wasn't just swampwater, but some sort of industrial sludge swampwater with a weird rust color. I hope it wasn't radioactive; if it was, we can only hope it helps my knee, as I was that deep in it when not fighting brambles. Since the race was near Freehold, we of course started off singing born to run, yet ended up with stuck somewhere in the swamps of Jersey. Never a pleasant visual image ...

Well, I'm just happy I finished. Hopefully I'll be able to at least put in a credible performance in my age group at the club long O champs next weekend, and with any luck, will be able to run M21.
